Jesse Mendez Wins Second National Title at 141 

For the second consecutive season, wrestling's Jesse Mendez captured the national title at the 141 pound weight class. Mendez capped off his 5-0 championship run at the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia by defeating Penn State's No. 2-seeded Beau Bartlett in a 2-1 decision in the semifinals before taking down the No. 1-seed Brock Hardy (Nebraska) by a 12-9 decision in the championship bout. With the title, Mendez becomes the sixth wrestler in program history to win multiple national championships and the first Buckeye since Kyle Snyder at heavyweight in 2016-18.

Men's Lacrosse Opens B1G Play with Big Win

The men's lacrosse team opened up conference play with a gritty 13-9 victory at No. 4 Penn State. Despite trailing 4-1, the Buckeyes scored four goals in the second quarter and another five in the third to seize control of the game. Garrett Haas, Ben Mayer and Shane O'Leary led the offense with two goals and an assist apiece while goalie Caleb Fyock was brilliant between the pipes recording a career-high 17 saves. With the win, the Buckeyes jumped to No. 3 in this week's USILA Coaches Poll.

Softball Sets Single-Season Home Run Record

The No. 21 softball team followed up its weekend sweep of Michigan State with an 11-6 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne last night at Buckeye Field. The Buckeye bats exploded for seven home runs on the evening including Morgan Frye's blast in the second inning, which marked Ohio State's 76th long ball of the season and set a new single-season home run record for the program. The Buckeyes' eight-game win streak improves their record to 26-6-1 ahead of this weekend's series versus Indiana.

Men's Tennis Remains Undefeated in B1G Play

The No. 3 men's tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a pair of strong performances, sweeping Wisconsin 4-0 on Friday and Nebraska 7-0 on Sunday to improve to 16-2 overall and 5-0 in Big Ten play. The Buckeyes cruised through doubles in both matches while Bryce Nakashima, Alexander Bernard and Will Jansen led the way in singles play picking up points in each match. Sunday's sweep of the Cornhuskers marks Ohio State's 70th consecutive home victory.

Women's Tennis Downs Maryland & Rutgers

The No. 12 women's tennis team picked up a pair of road wins over the weekend defeating Maryland 4-1 and Rutgers 4-0. The No. 15-ranked duo of Luciana Perry and Teah Chavez helped the Buckeyes secure the doubles point in each match, winning 6-4 against Maryland and 6-3 against Rutgers. Ohio State improves to 11-2 on the season and 5-1 in Big Ten play and return home to the Ty Tucker Tennis Center this weekend to host No. 24 UCLA and No. 14 USC.

Men's Swimming to Send 15 Buckeyes to the NCAA Championships

The No. 13 men's swim and dive team is set to compete at the NCAA Championships in Washington starting tonight through Saturday. The Buckeyes will send 15 athletes to compete including multiple individual Big Ten titleholders in Matt Klinge (50 free), Tristan Jankovics (400 IM) and Tomas Navikonis (100 free, 200 free). Live coverage of the event will be available on ESPN+ throughout the four days of competition.

No. 3 Seed Men's Hockey Gears Up for NCAA Tournament Regional in Toledo 

The men's hockey team will make its 11th NCAA postseason appearance as the Buckeyes earned an at-large berth in the 2025 NCAA Championship field as a No. 3 seed. The Buckeyes are set to face off against the No. 2-seed Boston Terriers in the regional semifinal tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Huntington Center in Toledo with the winner taking on either No. 1-seed Michigan State or No. 4-seed Cornell in the regional final on Saturday. Fans can cheer on the Buckeyes in Toledo by purchasing tickets HERE or can follow along as ESPNU will televise the Ohio State-Boston matchup.
