Head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes improved to 2-0 on the season following yesterday's 70-0 win over the Grambling State Tigers. Ohio State had 651 yards in total offense with 377 coming through the air as Julian Sayin completed 18-of-19 passes for 306 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half. Jeremiah Smith finished the day with five catches, 119 yards and two scores to lead the receiving corps. The Buckeyes rushed for 274 yards with Bo Jackson leading the way with 108 yards gained on nine carries. On defense, the Silver Bullets limited the Tigers to just 166 yards of total offense while tallying nine tackles-for-loss, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
The Buckeyes will close out their three-game homestand next Saturday, Sept. 13 when Ohio State battles its in-state foe in the Ohio Bobcats (1-1) under the lights. Kickoff against the Bobcats is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET with Peacock providing the game's broadcast. |
