Bucks Blank Badgers Sayin's Career Day Leads No. 1 Buckeyes to 34-0 Win Over Badgers |
The No. 1 Buckeyes improved to 7-0 on the season after shutting out the Wisconsin Badgers on the road by a score of 34-0. Quarterback Julian Sayin excelled in the passing game, completing his first 10 passing attempts en route to a 393-yard performance through the air. Sayin would finish the day with four touchdown passes with 36 completions on 42 attempts, all career highs. Nine Buckeyes caught at least one pass with Carnell Tate leading the way with six catches for 111 yards and two scores while Jeremiah Smith added nine receptions of his own.
Caleb Downs and the Ohio State defense kept the Badgers off the board, holding Wisconsin to only 144 yards of total offense and nine first downs. Downs led the Silver Bullets with six tackles on the day while the rest of the defense went on to rack up seven tackles-for-loss, three sacks and an interception. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes will be idle next weekend before returning to Ohio Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 1 for a matchup against the Penn State Nittany Lions (3-4). Game time and broadcast information remains to be determined.
