Ontario Soccer proudly announces the launch of its 125th Anniversary celebrations of Soccer in Ontario, marking a historic milestone since soccer’s official founding on May 18, 1901 at the Walker House in downtown Toronto. For over a century, soccer has united communities, inspired generations, and grown into the most played sport in Canada.

Soccer in Ontario is more than a sport—it’s a cultural movement that has embraced newcomers, united communities, and inspired dreams for 125 years. This anniversary is a tribute to the grassroots pioneers and the modern-day champions, who continue to make soccer The Beautiful Game.

Final Week to Register for the Inaugural Futsal Coach Diploma

Registration for Ontario Soccer’s first‑ever Futsal Coach Diploma closes January 12, featuring a blended online and in‑person learning format.

Coaches currently completing the 2026 Futsal Coach Certificate practical component are also eligible to apply early.

BMO Girls Play ON! Winter Edition a Success!

The BMO Girls Play ON! Winter Edition which took place on Saturday January 3 at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre brought together players and young leaders for a memorable day of learning, development, and empowerment through the game.

From our U7/U8 participants enjoying skill‑building and fun on the field to the U16–21 coaching cohort strengthening their leadership and coaching abilities, the event showcased the growth and passion of girls and young women in our community.

Thank you to everyone who took part and to BMO for their continued partnership and support in making this initiative possible.

Futsal Cup Preliminaries Begin This Weekend

The 2026 Ontario Youth Futsal Cup takes its next step this week as Preliminary Round action begins on January 10 across multiple age groups and venues. With the draw complete and divisions finalized, teams from across the province are set to compete in round‑robin play as they chase a spot in this year’s Finals, running February 26 to March 22.

This year carries added significance for the U18 Boys and Girls divisions, as they compete for the opportunity to play their Finals at the Ontario Winter Games.

Preliminary rounds will take place at both the 360 Soccer Centre and Pickering Soccer Centre, with age‑group schedules spanning January 10 to February 1.
