We’re reaching out in honor of Juneteenth—a day we commemorate as a federal holiday here at OUAI.
We believe everyone should have the freedom & feel empowered to be their most authentic selves, and that’s exactly what we’re celebrating this Juneteenth. Like so many Americans, OUAI’s understanding of the history and significance of Juneteenth emerged five years ago following the killing of George Floyd.
As part of our ongoing efforts to celebrate & support each other on this day and beyond, we started the OUAI Belonging Committee (“OBC”) to make sure everyone who works at OUAI feels seen, connected, supported & proud. These values are deeply rooted in the pillars we stand for & support including women’s rights, the LGBTQIA+ community and racial equity. Since forming, the OBC has enabled greater learning, connection, and community among those working at OUAI. Today, we’re encouraged to further reflect upon freedom, community & how you Live Life Your OUAI.
