Returning to our MADO family collection is French artist Anne Laval. Anne has brought her unique mixed media approach to three new characters that are colourful, bold and charming.

For her three Personage collage artworks, Anne Laval drew from traditional folk art and a combination of materials and textures to create depth and warmth to her figures.

The new artworks capture the entire family and adds a stylish, playful element to any room in the house.

“These characters were born from a mixture of paper cutouts and drawings, gouache, and pastels. These small, colorful beings are a cross between a toy puppet and a nature spirit.”

Anne Laval lives and works in France, in the city of Strasbourg. Her work focuses on a variety of different techniques: paint, ink, colored pencils, stamps, stencils, silkscreen printing. Full of simple shapes and vibrant colours, Laval enjoys the variety of texture each medium creates.
Nature is a real source of her inspiration.
