I am delighted to share The Task Force for Global Health's Fiscal Year 2024 annual report, “One by One: The Gains Are Won.”
During FY24, The Task Force for Global Health and our partners marked a significant milestone, celebrating 40 years of impact. During this time, the world saw extraordinary progress: deaths of children under five dropped by 60%; polio cases declined by 99%, nearing eradication; and 50 countries eliminated at least one infectious disease, protecting their communities from horrific diseases that blind, disable and stigmatize.
Behind those numbers are millions of people, each contributing to this progress. Whether you are a partner, donor or other global health enthusiast, please know that your support helps power the tremendous progress of The Task Force and our partners at every turn. Without you, we could not help global health innovators establish new laboratories, apply modern technology to improve disease outbreak responses, or move transformational research discoveries into the hands of healthcare professionals where they will matter most.
One by one, the gains are won.
We recognize, of course, that this Annual Report for FY24 is being released at a time of special challenge for the global health community, as we work to adjust to recent, sharp declines in U.S. global health funding. In any case, The Task Force remains 100% committed to our role as a trusted convener, bringing people together to solve the world’s most difficult health challenges and emerging health threats. We and our partners continue to advance critical health initiatives that benefit Americans and people around the world, now and for the future.
