In his new book, Steven Weitzman, Ella Darivoff Director of the Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Judaic Studies, explores how the biblical story of the 10 plagues has been retold for millennia as people make sense of and respond to the disasters of their times. “This is an ancient story written in a culture that existed over 2,500 years ago, and yet we’re still retelling it about experiences in our own day and age,” he says.
