Launched nearly a year ago, the Penn Advanced Research Computing Center (PARCC) represents a collaborative effort that embodies Penn’s commitment to achieving impactful research outcomes. “Betty,” Penn’s first University-wide high-performance computing and artificial intelligence cluster, is already reshaping research across Schools and Centers. “Faculty are now tackling problems that they thought they could never tackle, at speeds they could not imagine,” says David Meaney, vice provost for research.

Multimedia artist Ani Liu explores how the body and technology shape how knowledge is formed and understood. Drawing from her own experiences of motherhood and investigations into microplastics, Liu treats art as a mode of inquiry—bringing these questions into the classroom as she guides students to examine observation, data, and meaning through creative practice.

Perry World House will host the premiere of the new animation “How to Care about Bonaire,” which explores themes of climate justice on the island of Bonaire, one of six Caribbean islands in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
