For 13 years, the members of this community have done so much to help us keep our Promise to protect children from gun violence. That includes you, and I am deeply grateful.

While there was incredible progress last year thanks to your support, there were also horrific tragedies devastating more families and communities – including shootings at Brown University, Annunciation Catholic School and far too many others. Our children are heading not only to their classrooms each morning but also to proms, football games and homecoming parties with the fear that any day could be the one when a shooting happens at their school.

So now, in this moment when our mission is as urgent as ever, I’m reaching out to get your feedback:

Honoring my beautiful butterfly Dylan is truly my reason for being. And thanks to parents, supporters and friends like you who care about preventing gun violence, Sandy Hook Promise has taken massive steps forward in building a safer world for all our children.

Since our founding, more than 38 million youth and adults and counting have participated in our Know the Signs programs to learn how to spot the warning signs of potential gun violence. We’ve prevented multiple school shooting plots and also responded to over 344,000 tips since the launch of our Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, resulting in 1,051 confirmed young lives saved from suicide. And in this time, nearly 13 million supporters like you have made the Promise to protect children from gun violence.

I cherish all the work that we’ve accomplished together, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us this year. So even if you've taken one of our surveys in the past, it's critically important that we hear from you again.
