Juneteenth is a day of deep reflection and celebration—a recognition of freedom and the ongoing fight for equality.
As the founder of a Black-owned business, this day is personal. PetPlate started in my tiny New York apartment kitchen with a single goal: to give my dog Winston the healthiest, happiest life possible. I never imagined that years later, I’d be pitching the idea on Shark Tank—and building a company that now helps thousands of dogs across the country.
But PetPlate has always been more than just food. It’s about care. Representation. Believing that every family—no matter what they look like—deserves the very best.
Juneteenth reminds me why I built this company in the first place: to create something lasting, meaningful, and rooted in love—for dogs, and for the people who love them.
To everyone who’s been part of this journey, thank you.
