Hi there,
I wanted to personally reach out to you today and introduce myself to you! My name is Courtney I am the principle designer and CEO of Plush + Oak!
If you are new to Plush + Oak - first of all WELCOME. We have been in business for just over 5 years, and just celebrated our 6000th bed shipped this month!
We do things differently. Our designs and models aren't found anywhere else, because we design, patent, and manufacture them in Canada and the USA. We aren't a re-seller, or an importer. We are a design firm and manufacturer.
A lot of our designs get the feedback "oh, this is so good for the client AND the artist"!
Yes.
That's because I have spent the last 15 years of my life both behind the chair as a lash artist, or on top of one as a client. I know first hand, that when it comes to lash, brows, PMU, waxing, and facials...
Flat beds don't cut it. Sciatic nerve pain for clients. Tail bone locking.
Massage tables don't cut it. No leg room for artists. Pelvic and Lower back displacement and the dreaded "hunch" from not being able to get close enough.
Plush + Oak focusses on 3 main components in our designs. All of our models MUST have these 3 key things to make it into our line up.
1. Ample leg room for artists Having been in the lash industry for as long as I was, I cannot tell you how many artist friends "retired" early from services. Not because they wanted to. But because their back misalignment from massage tables compounded over time and they had to choose between their quality of life, or their career. If your legs don't move freely under your bed, and you can't sit with your knees 90 degrees and planted on the floor - this spells body trouble.
2. Ergonomic Curves that Eliminate Pressure Points As a mother of 4, my sciatic nerve pain is always lingering under the surface. When I got services done, often times I was limping out of the salon because the nerve pain had pinched or flared up. It was actually after a very stressful, very painful lash appointment that I finally decided to design our first model (The Edda) because I couldn't go back to laying on a massage table. Our bodies are not meant to lay flat unless they have suspension systems beneath (like a mattress). Which is why all Plush + Oak beds have webbed suspension which provides "bounce" as well as curves that allow the knee to be raised and take the pressure from the lower back.
3. Wide, Flat Workstations Twisting back and forth between a service cart hundreds of times an appointment isn't just a time-killer, but it's a muscle strainer too.Plush + Oak beds are 31" wide to ensure you can keep supplies beside you during service, right on the bed. The other key? Flat headrests! Why? Because proper sight lines to your client is equally important to posture. They cannot tilt away from you. You must see their face perfectly.
If you're in the market for an upgrade, I sincerely hope you choose us! It is my mission to make sure all artists are healthy, their businesses are thriving with increased client attraction and retention, and that everyone can have as long of a career as they would like to!
