Princeton Summer Theater opens its 2025 season

In a season that opened June 12, Princeton Summer Theater is producing a trio of mainstage shows — a musical adaptation of “The Bridges of Madison County,” a whodunit called “The Game’s Afoot” and “Frankenstein.” The 2025 season will also debut a new cabaret event and continues PST’s popular children’s programming with a kid-friendly adaptation of the Greek epic “The Odyssey.”

The independent troupe’s 55th main-stage season runs through Aug. 2 in Hamilton Murray Theater on the Princeton University campus. Students and recent graduates from Princeton and elsewhere put on the shows. This year’s summer stock productions consider “the value of sincerity” across dramatic genres, said Alex Conboy, a member of Princeton’s Class of 2025 who is the season’s artistic director.

Princeton Pride Parade

Princeton University employees join community members in marching in the Princeton Pride Parade. The parade is organized by the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice.

Princeton Pride Parade starts at 400 Witherspoon Street, marches on Witherspoon Street through the historic Witherspoon-Jackson Neighborhood and ends at the Princeton Family YMCA.

Princeton Pride Parade is free and open the the public.

Artist Demonstration: Roberto Lugo

The Princeton University Art Museum welcomes artist, ceramist, social activist, poet, and educator Roberto Lugo to Art@Bainbridge for a hands-on making event where Lugo will lead a wheel-throwing demonstration. 

Lugo’s work will be on view in the exhibition Roberto Lugo / Orange and Black until Sunday, July 6 at Art@Bainbridge. The exhibition features vases that draw on the shapes, techniques, and decorative motifs of ancient Greek vessels to tell personal and communal stories of contemporary social and political oppression.

The demonstration is free and open to the public.

Drawing Points of View from the Collections | Watercolors: In the Round

Princeton University Art Museum partners with the Arts Council of Princeton to provide free virtual painting classes, taught by artist-instructor Barbara DiLorenzo. With an emphasis on painting with watercolors, each week’s lesson in this series will be inspired by an object from the Museum’s collections that depicts a different point of view. 

This live art-making class is inspired by a red-figure ceramic vessel attributed to the Ariana Painter (ca. 460 BCE). In this session, we will explore painting an object in the round.
