Hamilton-based artist Léni Paquet-Morante highlighted in solo exhibition at Princeton University Art Museum
Extract / Abstract, an exhibition featuring recent works by Leni Paquet-Morante (born 1962, Temiscamingue, Quebec, Canada; active Hamilton, NJ) will open at Princeton University Art Museum's Art@Bainbridge gallery on July 19. Paquet-Morante's work reimagines landscape painting. Working across various media, including acrylic painting, ink drawing, and monoprints, the artist prioritizes abstraction through her use of bold colors, impressionistic mark-making, and unusual crops.
Extract / Abstract inspires numerous related public events on campus including an outdoor film series, Art on Screen with Princeton Garden Theater, and a conversation with Paquet-Morante and guest curator Michael Quituisaca (graduate student, Department of Art & Archaeology).

Sustainability in action: Princeton’s initiatives divert tons of waste, support thousands
With the assistance of over 80 staff and student volunteers, the Office of Sustainability collected thousands of donations through its Greening Move Out initiative and composted over 6,000 pounds of food waste during Reunions 2025.
Move-out donations including fans, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products supported Cornerstone Community Kitchen, a Princeton organization that provides meals and essential items to residents.

State AI leaders gather at Princeton to consider how the technology can improve public services
Much of the news about artificial intelligence has focused on how it will change the private sector. But all around the country, public officials are experimenting with how AI can also transform the way governments provide essential services to citizens while avoiding pitfalls.
State AI leaders, including Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey, gathered at Princeton University in June to discuss how AI offers ways for government to be more efficient, effective, and transparent, especially at a time when budgets are strapped and economic uncertainty has slowed down hiring.

A new way to wobble: Scientists uncover mechanism that causes formation of planets
Instead of a tempest in a teapot, imagine the cosmos in a canister. Scientists have performed experiments using nested, spinning cylinders to confirm that an uneven wobble in a ring of electrically conductive fluid like liquid metal or plasma causes particles on the inside of the ring to drift inward. Since revolving rings of plasma also occur around stars and black holes, these new findings imply that the wobbles can cause matter in those rings to fall toward the central mass and form planets.

Summer Carillon Concert Series
Princeton University's annual Summer Annual Carillon Concert Series takes place on Sundays at 1 pm. The Carillon is a musical instrument of 23 or more bells that when sounded produce music. Carillon bells are hung stationary with only the clapper moving against the lip of the bell. It is manually played from a console with both fists and feet activating batons and pedals attached to the clappers through mechanical linkage. There is no electronic assistance to ring the bells. Concerts are held rain or shine.

This year's selection of outdoor film screenings features three films noted for their representations of nature; inspired by the exhibition Léni Paquet-Morante: Extract/Abstract, on view at Art@Bainbridge from July 19 through November 9.
PUAM will screen Into the Wild (2007) on July 24. Arrive by 8:00 PM and bring a blanket or chair— PUAM will provide the popcorn! Screenings begin at sunset.
