Princeton researchers awarded Genesis Mission grants from Department of Energy to lead projects that accelerate AI use for scientific discovery

Princeton University faculty members Hantao Ji, Egemen Kolemen, Josh Atkinson and Jürgen Hackl have been awarded grants to lead projects in the Genesis Mission, a nationwide initiative that was announced today by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), encompassing 278 projects to harness artificial intelligence for scientific discovery.

From Community News: Free Carillon Concert Set for Princeton University on July 19

A free carillon concert is scheduled for 1 p.m. July 19 at Princeton University’s Graduate College, 88 College Road West, continuing a tradition of public Sunday performances that has run for more than 30 years.

The concert is open to the public at no cost and will be held rain or shine, according to the event listing. The series offers Capital Region residents a recurring opportunity to hear one of Princeton’s most distinctive musical instruments performed live.

Princeton University Concerts announces Lasting Tracks Challenge contest results

“Imagine it’s the end of the world. What piece(s) of music are you listening to, and why?“

Princeton University Concerts is excited to announce the results of the 2025-26 Lasting Tracks Challenge! This initiative invited participants to send in the music that they would want to listen to at the end of the world as an extension of “Dies Irae,” violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja’s musical response to apocalyptic themes, presented as part of the 2025-26 season.

This finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and well-known American classic explores alternatives that might spring from the demented terrain of the California landscape when sons of a desert-dwelling alcoholic and a suburban wanderer clash over a film script.

Princeton Summer Theater is a non-profit summer stock theater providing an opportunity for young actors, directors, designers, and theater administrators to become part of a unique artistic community. Our executive board and full-time company are made up of passionate undergraduates, graduate students and recent graduates from Princeton University and other neighboring institutions. PST offers them an unparalleled experience: a nurturing environment that inspires artistic ingenuity and prepares creative minds to enter the professional theater world.

Marine Zines Workshop

Learn about the art of zine making!

Make a marine-themed zine inspired by images of summer, surf, and sand with internationally exhibited local artist Christina Freeman. You’ll visit the galleries to see paintings, ceramics, and photographs of seascapes and marine life, then in the Creativity Labs you’ll use photocopy and collage techniques to create your own zine to take home. Materials will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring additional images, drawings, or other 2D materials.

Summer Carillon Concert Series

Princeton University's annual Summer Annual Carillon Concert Series takes place on Sundays at 1 pm. The Carillon is a musical instrument of 23 or more bells that when sounded produce music. Carillon bells are hung stationary with only the clapper moving against the lip of the bell. It is manually played from a console with both fists and feet activating batons and pedals attached to the clappers through mechanical linkage. There is no electronic assistance to ring the bells. Concerts are held rain or shine.

Piecing it Together

Saturdays are for young makers in the Creativity Labs! 

The artist Yeesookyung transforms discarded pieces of ceramic vases into new works of art that embrace organic and novel shapes. Join us this week to create your own recycled sculpture with metallic accents. We provide the materials, you bring the creativity! 

Visit us any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to explore a work of art, play with different materials, and exercise your imagination. No tickets or registration required—just drop in as your schedule allows! All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult.
