I didn’t expect my New Year’s Day to go like this.

After finally having some downtime, I ran to a nail salon for a quick manicure before hosting my entire family for dinner.

When I walked in and started picking out a nail color, a man wearing heavy jewelry struck up a conversation with me. Not wanting to be rude, I made a little small talk.

Within minutes, the conversation took a disturbing turn.

Then asked if I would go to a strip club with him.

The woman at the front desk noticed how uncomfortable I was and pretended my appointment was ready to get me out of the situation (shoutout to the unsung heroes who step in when they sense something isn’t right).

I tried to calm down and relax during my appointment. But when my nails were finished, my worst fear came true: He was standing right outside, waiting.

I stalled. I went to the bathroom. When I came back out, he was gone.

And all I could think was: What if he’s waiting for me in the parking garage?

Does this even warrant calling the police?
