One thing our team keeps saying during this trip is: Photos and videos never fully prepare you for what it feels like to visit a community we serve in person.

Recently, Alzina, our Programs Manager, visited five villages in Tanzania to see firsthand how our partnership in Ukwaga Ward is improving child nutrition, health and education. One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was following the journey of Rise Against Hunger meals, from arrival in-country to the schools and families we serve, meeting the students, parents and care workers whose lives are impacted every day.

In the midst of the visit, Alzina pulled out her phone and recorded a quick video because she wanted supporters like you to experience even a small part of what she was seeing. Not the polished version, just the real moment.

After the trip, Alzina shared that she was especially inspired by the Reaching Children’s Potential (RCP) program, which brings together nutrition education, home visits, healthcare access and school feeding to support healthier futures for children and families. You are a big part of the reason moments and programs like this are possible.
