Building the AI-Ready Workforce | |
Salesforce employees today are building careers in roles that barely existed a few years ago. Conversation designers. Forward Deployed Engineers. Agentic Experience Specialists. And what unites them is the range of experience they bring with them. As Philipp Hänggi, a Senior Agentic Experience Specialist who started out as a linguist said, “No single background is sufficient for this work; you need people who come at the problem from different angles.”
These are roles shaped less by credentials than by disposition: intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and the willingness to say “Let’s run an experiment and find out.”
The value of this kind of thinking isn’t limited to mid-career folk. Salesforce’s commitment to hire 1,000 AI-native graduates through its new Builder program is a bet that today’s graduates, who have grown up collaborating with AI, are exactly who enterprises need to reshape how work gets done from the inside out.
“The AI-native generation entering the workforce today isn’t threatened by AI,” said Nathalie Scardino, Chief People Officer at Salesforce. “They're the ones building it.” The accompanying Emerging Talent Playbook distills that bet into a 3As framework — Attract, Assess, Activate — that any organization can apply.
Both stories share a conviction that the human role in the age of AI is coming into focus, characterized by a willingness to adapt to roles that haven’t fully formed yet. As Khalid puts it, “I didn’t plan on becoming an FDE. It’s something that I grew into.”

U.S. Workers Are More Wary of AI Than Their Global Peers. Here's What Leaders Can Do About It |
A new Salesforce survey of more than 1,500 desk workers across 15 countries finds something counterintuitive: American workers are 43% more likely than the global average to consider themselves AI skeptics.
But the data reveals that this skepticism isn't primarily about job loss — it's about the quality of the AI experience employers are providing.
Workers who are part of successful AI pilots have four things in common: they received training, AI was embedded in tools they already use, they trust its security, and they can customize it to their role. The result? Seventy-six percent become active AI advocates. The roadmap for leaders is clearer than they might think.

Not All Agentic Harnesses Are Created Equal |
|
A new term has entered the AI lexicon: the agentic harness. It’s the scaffolding around a model that gives the AI access to the tools, data, and other elements that render it useful.
The challenge is building harnesses that can act coherently on behalf of entire organizations, with competing priorities, distributed authority, and decisions that require human judgment to complete.
“A harness built for one isn't the same as one built to act coherently on behalf of thousands of people with competing goals and constraints,” write the Salesforce Futures authors. “That difference runs deeper than features or price. It goes all the way down to the architecture.”
