Today is World Ocean Day, and I wanted to take a moment to share a few of the small choices that have become important parts of Sande over the years.

Living by the ocean inspires so much of what we create at Sande, and protecting it has always been something deeply important to us.

This World Oceans Day, we wanted to share a little more about the small choices happening behind the scenes that help reduce our impact where we can.

Every Sande order is sent in Better Packaging Co POLLAST!C satchels, made from recycled Ocean Bound Plastic pollution collected from coastal communities before it can enter our oceans. By choosing these satchels, together we’ve already helped remove over 460kg of plastic pollution from the environment.

Since the beginning, we’ve also donated $1 from every order to Take 3 for the Sea - an organisation helping drive education, awareness and action around plastic pollution and ocean conservation. Together with our community, we’ve now donated over $50,000, which honestly feels pretty incredible for a small family brand that started with an idea around beach days and raising kids by the ocean.

Sustainability for us has never been about perfection. It’s about trying to make more thoughtful choices over time. Designing durable products made to last, reducing unnecessary packaging where possible, and aligning ourselves with businesses and organisations working toward positive change too.

Small actions might feel insignificant on their own, but collectively they create ripple effects.

And that’s something worth celebrating this World Ocean Day 🤍
