Sea turtles need funded rescue care. Send your letter now.

In my work at WCS, I watch good bills lose momentum for one reason: time. In a few days, Congress leaves town for its August recess. Whatever's still sitting on their desks when they go stays there until fall.

Right now, that includes the Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance and Rehabilitation Act (H.R. 347/S. 843). The bill passed the Senate in March with bipartisan support. It's been waiting on the House ever since.

This legislation would open up federal grant funding for the accredited facilities that rescue and treat sick and injured sea turtles. Cold-stunning events on the East Coast are increasing, and the facilities that care for these turtles need the resources to keep pace.

Your Representative can help these facilities keep up. Tell them to act before they leave for recess.

Thank you for speaking up. Legislation like this is exactly why I do this work, and it means a lot to have you behind it.

ACT NOW
Sea Turtle
We're making great progress on passing the bipartisan Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance and Rehabilitation Act. The legislation passed the Senate in March and now we need the House to act.

Please make your voice heard and ask your Representative to co-sponsor and urge this important legislation to pass before the end of this year to ensure that sick and injured sea turtles get the rehabilitation they need.

Endangered sea turtles face growing threats from human activity, including entanglement in fishing gear, plastic pollution, boat strikes, and nesting habitat loss. Cold-stunning events on the East Coast have left thousands stranded and unable to survive without rescue—and these events are increasing.

Right now, Congress has the opportunity to provide critical funding for the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured sea turtles. But we need your voice to make it happen.

The bipartisan Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance and Rehabilitation Act (H.R. 347 / S. 843) would update an existing federal grant program to support organizations responding to and caring for threatened and endangered sea turtles. Will you help? It takes less than a minute.

SEND A LETTER TO CONGRESS
Every year, sick and injured sea turtles are rescued thanks to the dedication of federally permitted facilities across the country. Passing this legislation will help sustain their efforts and strengthen conservation research, protecting sea turtles for generations to come.

Please urge your Representative to co-sponsor and support the Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance and Rehabilitation Act. Your voice could be what gets this across the finish line.

Thank you for speaking up for wildlife at this critical moment.
