Your support helps neighbors like Elodia and her son Junior make ends meet during tough times. When an illness left Elodia unable to continue working as a nurse, she turned to her local food shelf for support. It not only provided food for her family but also introduced her and her son, Junior, to new, healthier options. “My son used to be a very picky eater,” Elodia said. “Now, he tries new things and he prepares it and he enjoys making dinner for us.”

While the last few years have brought so much change for Elodia and her family, she’s hopeful for the future. “When you feel like everything is falling down around you, you have to be strong,” she said. “You have to look at what means the most around you, which is family for me. You just have to continue the fight.”
