A glimpse of what we're building together

Thanks to the support of our community, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley's new energy-efficient facility is beginning to take shape, and in about a year, we'll be opening the doors to our new home.

The steel is up, the roof is on, and insulated panels are starting to enclose the warehouse, creating the temperature-controlled space needed to process and distribute fresh, nutritious food day in and day out.

Inside, crews are beginning to frame key spaces, including our volunteer orientation area, community room, and the freezer, refrigerator and dry food storage sections of the warehouse.

When completed, our new facility will significantly expand our capacity to rescue, store and distribute nutritious food, helping us serve more neighbors across Silicon Valley.

If you'd like to make a gift toward our new home, your impact will be tripled through June 30 thanks to a $5 million commitment from Reid Hoffman, philanthropist and co-founder of LinkedIn.

Recognizing Leslie's leadership

We're proud to share that our CEO, Leslie Bacho, has been named to Silicon Valley's 2026 Power List by Modern Luxury.

Recognized alongside an inspiring group of leaders helping shape and strengthen our region, this honor reflects Leslie's unwavering dedication to ending hunger here at home and building a stronger, more nourished community for all.

We're grateful to see her leadership and impact celebrated, and proud of the work she leads every day in service of our neighbors.

Caring for community

For Virginia, caring for others is an expression of love.

As a nurse, she cares for seniors in the Filipino community who remind her of her own mother. Through Second Harvest, she also picks up fresh, nutritious food for her family and encourages others in her community to visit local food distributions. Virginia shared:

"When you do things for your family, it's love that binds you together. And that's the way I give my love to everyone."

Give forward this summer

This summer, giving forward means going beyond what you can do alone. By starting a fundraiser for Second Harvest, you're inviting your friends and family to join the effort in building a hunger-free community.

🎓 Graduating? Ask friends and family to celebrate your achievement with a gift to Second Harvest.

💍 Getting married? Request donations in lieu of wedding gifts.

🎂 Have a summer birthday? Turn your celebration into support for neighbors in need.
