Simone the Kitten's Story

When Simone arrived at the San Francisco SPCA, she looked like any other playful three-month-old kitten waiting for a loving home.
Then, during her routine spay surgery, our Shelter Medicine team discovered something unexpected: Simone had a rare congenital condition that made it difficult for her tiny body to breathe properly. What followed was a complex surgery, intensive recovery care, and countless moments of compassion from our staff and volunteers.
Today, Simone is healthy, thriving, and loving life in her new home.
