🚨 3 million acres are at risk. Rush your emergency gift.

Friend -- this week President Trump signed executive orders attempting to virtually eliminate Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments.
Nearly three million acres of public lands would lose their protections overnight. Under these new executive orders, Bears Ears would be reduced to just 9% of its original size and Grand Staircase-Escalante to 10%. This rollback also strips five Indigenous tribes of their leadership, ending a historic agreement to co-manage their ancestral lands.
Imagine a landscape of towering red rock mesas, silent slot canyons, and ancient cliff dwellings. This is a place where the history of the Earth is written in exposed stone, and where Indigenous cultures have maintained deep, spiritual connections since time immemorial.
These public lands flow seamlessly into world-famous destinations like Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef National Parks.
But with the stroke of a pen, that legacy is being dismantled. We are losing:
🏜️ Sacred Tribal Lands: We are losing protection for Indigenous cultural landscapes, leaving thousands of sacred sites defenseless against looting and drilling.
⛰️ Our Beautiful Public Lands: We risk losing access to premier places to hike, camp, hunt, fish, and climb -- where people find peace in nature, and vital wildlife species find safe refuge.
🥾 Our Right to Explore: We stand to lose access based on the administration's out-of-touch claim that "you can't even walk on it," ignoring the millions of us who love and explore these lands every year.
HOW SIERRA CLUB FIGHTS BACK
We cannot allow this hostile attack on our public lands and sovereign Indigenous Nations to stand. The Sierra Club is already fighting back with a coordinated, multi-front offensive to protect these precious public lands:
🏛️ On Capitol Hill: We are actively petitioning Congress, demanding they exercise oversight and block the exploitation on these slashed public lands. Pitch in now >>>
🤝 On the Ground: We are coordinating with sovereign Tribal Nations and local conservation partners to resist any immediate industrial intrusion, while mobilizing supporters nationwide to back their fight. Pitch in now >>>
⚖️ In the Courts: Our legal teams are exploring every way we can protect our public lands. No president has the legal authority to undo monument protections. Pitch in now >>>
This is part of a broader, escalating pattern of environmental attacks. We're already fighting to protect our climate, defend bedrock wildlife protections, and stop fossil fuel exploitation, and this latest move raises the stakes. We need your help to keep up the pressure.
