Hey SMD Community,
Fall has officially arrived! The leaves are just starting to turn, but the sun is still hanging on, for now. Here in Portland, we’re soaking up the last of the warmth before next week’s forecasted rain rolls in. It’s that awkward in-between season where I can’t decide if I should still be wearing shorts or finally pull out the sweaters.
This time of year, you don’t see as many umbrellas on the trail, but maybe you should. Our Rain Walker SUL Umbrella is perfect for transition season: ultralight, breathable, and a great alternative to a rain shell when it’s drizzly but not downpouring.
It’s a bit of a slow week here at Six Moon Designs, and since there’s not much news or personal updates to share, I thought I’d drop some more quick gear tips for fall.
Quick Fall Gear Tips:
Layer Smart – Base, mid, shell. Don’t forget gloves and a beanie!
Pack an Umbrella – The Rain Walker SUL keeps you dry without overheating.
Refresh Your Pack – Toss old snacks, restock first-aid, clean out debris.
Clean Your Gear – Give your tent and backpack some TLC before storing.
Bring a Headlamp – Days are shorter! I learned the hard way at Mt. Rainier last year.
