HÔTEL DU COUVENT

1 Rue Honoré Ugo, 06300 Nice 

Nestled in the hills of the Old Town in Nice, Hôtel du Couvent is a former convent transformed into a boutique hotel, with terraced gardens overlooking the Mediterranean. Peaceful and unhurried, it is a place to linger, with a pool overlooking the city and restaurants serving fruit, vegetables, and herbs grown in the gardens. I love it here!

CHEZ DAVIA

11bis Rue Grimaldi, 06000 Nice 

A longstanding favourite, this family-run restaurant has been serving Mediterranean classics since 1953. The warm yellow walls, checkered tablecloths and ever-present bouquets of sunflowers make me happy each time I visit. The food is exceptional, as is the wine list.

BAHN MEI

6 Rue Rossetti, 06300 Nice

Another favourite, nestled in the winding streets of the Old Town, is Banh Mei. The menu brings together Asian flavours and Mediterranean influences, accompanied by a great selection of natural wines. Relaxed and intimate, it has become a place I return to whenever I'm in Nice.

HÔTEL AMOUR PLAGE

47 Promenade des Anglais, 06000 Nice

Located on the Promenade des Anglais, Hôtel Amour's beach serves great food beneath blue and white parasols, with sunbeds overlooking the turquoise water. I love spending the day here.

MONDAY ANTIQUE AND FLEA MARKET

Cours Saleya et Place Pierre Gautier, 06300 Nice

Each Monday, the usual flower and food stalls at Cours Saleya make way for vendors selling vintage clothing, art, silverware, books, and antiques. I love looking through old treasures and heirlooms, and the people-watching is great too. I always come early to spot the locals.

FONDATION MAEGHT

623, Chemin des Gardettes, 06570 Saint-Paul de Vence

Fondation Maeght is one of my favourite places to visit near Nice. Seeing works by Miró, Léger, Giacometti, Calder, and other modern artists in this setting is breathtaking. The building itself is worth the visit. I return each time I'm in the area. A perfect day trip from Nice.

LA COLOMBE D'OR

Place du Général de Gaulle, 06570 Saint-Paul-de-Vence

For me, no visit to the Côte d'Azur is complete without stopping at La Colombe d'Or. Whether for lunch in the garden or a stay at the hotel, I always find myself lingering a little longer. There is something so special about how works by some of the 20th century's greatest artists are woven into everyday life at the hotel. Many of them exchanged paintings for a stay or a few meals, and I love that this history still feels so present today.
