Hello Spicy Empire!
Happy Holidays! I can finally say that because the city started putting on the holiday lights. We are officially launching our BFCM deals! Buckle up because a lot is coming. It’s crazy to think that BFCM is almost a holiday on its own.
The tradition actually dates back to the late 1800s when shops launched holiday parades and opened doors right after Thanksgiving to kickoff holiday shopping. The term “Black Friday” was later coined by the Philadelphia police in the 1950s due to increased shoplifting during this time.
In the 1980s, when Excel came out, Black Friday earned its positive connotation because that’s the day the spreadsheets shifted from red (losses) to black (profitability).
Cyber Monday trend arose following the internet, as people returned to work after Thanksgiving, and used their faster office internet connections to shop. The term was officially coined by the National Retail Federation (NRF - tbh I didn’t even know this organization existed) in 2005.
Shoutout to the Philly PD, Microsoft, and NRF for making it rain. While many retailers use BFCM as a way to offload aged inventory and older models, we made a massive batch to support your holiday needs!
On top of the massive 20 percent savings, many of you wanted to use our Matte Black boxes as gift boxes, so this year, we are letting you add that option in the cart
