In Costa Rica, Pura Vida (pure life) is a common expression, one that celebrates the vibrancy of the country—from the land to the people, and of course, the coffee. And we're excited to share a taste of that vibrancy with you.
Meet our two newest single-origin Costa Rican offerings:
Montañas de Fuego
A single origin that will light up your day without the caffeine, Montañas de Fuego is here for a limited time. This special decaf comes from our longtime partners at Cordillera de Fuego—a collective of 250 smallholder producers spanning the microregions of San Ramon and Los Santos in the West Valley. It's gently decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process. This chemical-free method uses water and carbon filters to gently remove caffeine via osmosis, preserving the coffee's essence while leaving less than 1% caffeine. What you get in the cup is notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, and a soft, lingering touch of orange zest. We haven't dropped a single-origin decaf in 20 years, but this one is too good not to share.
Sunrider
Every summer, we like to offer a blend for our home cold brew enthusiasts. And this summer, that's Sunrider—our first-ever 12oz bag of single-origin cold brew coffee beans. We teamed up with our longtime partners at the Coopeatenas Cooperative for this one. Coopeatenas was founded by 90 producers in 1969, in the town of Atenas. Today, the cooperative’s membership includes over 1,300 producers from the municipalities of Atenas, Puriscal, and Turrubares in Alajuela province, in Costa Rica's West Valley. Sunrider is your ticket to ride summer from first light on into the sunset—with notes of melon, tropical citrus, and caramel. And it's easygoing, brewed hot or cold.
These single origins are what summer is all about: long days filled with fun, adventure, and coffees you can drink day and night. That’s Pura Vida.
