This free resource breaks down a full year of 2025 beach cleanup data from Surfrider chapters nationwide, including:

• The total weights of trash removed.

• The types of pollution collected (spoiler: single-use plastic dominates).

• Regional trends and what they mean for coastal policy.

This comprehensive dataset on coastal pollution exists because of ocean advocates like you — the Surfrider volunteers who show up, the chapters who track the findings, and the members who fund the work.

With this beach cleanup data, for decades Surfrider has been on the forefront of making positive policy changes at the local, state, and federal levels. And without your help collecting and sorting trash on the beach, we wouldn’t have the evidence to show legislators that plastic pollution is a huge problem on American beaches.
