Dina was 43 and getting ready for her bridal shower when she learned she had stage 1 hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. "It was a big surprise for us," Dina said. "But it was caught early."
Going from planning a wedding and the joy that comes with that to navigating a breast cancer diagnosis was a lot. "We were overwhelmed with doctor appointments, having this screening, this appointment, this test. It was a lot."
Dina is grateful for the support they received from her care team and her now husband. "I don't want to be defined by breast cancer, but it'll always be a part of us," Dina said.
