When someone with a disability starts their day, it’s as if they clock into a job they didn’t sign up for. From managing a care team to navigating medical expenses – the tasks never end.
And if medical and care expenses weren’t enough, many people with disabilities need to spend extra time and resources to secure basics others take for granted.
For many people with disabilities, the ADA was a first bus pass – thanks to mandated access to public transportation. It was a first job – thanks to its protections against discrimination in hiring. The ADA even allowed many to eat at a restaurant for the first time – thanks to new rules on accessibility.
But things like parking spots and workplace accommodations don’t mean all the challenges are solved for the more than 1 in 4 Americans who have disabilities.
It’s impossible to overstate the impact of the ADA. But as we celebrate 36 years of this landmark civil rights legislation, we need your help to further support and advocate for people with disabilities. And right now, you can make a gift that will be TRIPLED up to our $25,000 goal. Please don’t miss this opportunity before it expires at midnight on July 31.
Make a gift of $36 (becomes $108) or more now and have it TRIPLED to empower more people with disabilities to thrive.
