Hi Andrew King,
As back-to-school season approaches, here’s an exciting way to engage your students from day one.

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge invites students ages 13–18 to create a short video (two minutes or less) explaining a big idea in physics, life sciences, or math. It’s a fun way to spark creativity. They don’t need fancy gear. Just their voice, their ideas, and a smart way to share them.

🏆 Big prizes, big opportunities

$250,000 college scholarship for the winning student
$50,000 award for an inspiring teacher
$100,000 science lab for the winner’s school

No fancy tools required. Students just need an idea, a phone, and the curiosity to make complex topics come alive.

Help them get started!

🔍  Ask what science or math topic they can't stop thinking about
💬  Have them explain it like they're chatting with a friend
📱  Brainstorm fun ways to bring it to life—using just their phone, creativity, and voice

Submissions are due by September 15, 2025.

Thanks for everything you do to empower students!
