People come together in the Royal Parks every summer, for music, for food, for celebration, and to simply enjoy the beauty of being outdoors.


Even nature has its own way of gathering. Bats are settling into tree hollows and rooftops to prepare for their young, while geese cluster together for their annual moult.

What’s new in your parks

This Saturday, 14 June, Trooping the Colour returns and St. James’s Park is once again preparing to host the iconic military spectacle that marks the King’s official birthday. With thousands set to gather along The Mall, park teams are working behind the scenes to ready the landscape. You can hear more about what goes into getting the park ready in this podcast episode.


Then newly-redesigned Greenwich Park Rose Garden is now open to the public after a three-year restoration project. The garden now incorporates herbaceous planting with an array of shrub, climbing and rugosa roses.  Included in the new layout is a native grassland, flowering meadow, and bespoke pergolas designed and fabricated by artist Heather Burrell.


We're excited to announce that planning permissions for Kensington Garden's Diana Memorial Playground has been approved. The Β£3 million project will provide more accessible and inclusive play, as well as challenging physical play, so that children of all abilities can enjoy the much-loved playground.


International Day of Play gave us a chance to reflect on how, as a charity, we're working to encourage play with those that visit our parks. Learn more about how we've recently invested in our playgrounds as well as the work of our Play in the Park programme.
