The Queen Elizabeth II Garden opens in The Regent’s Park

The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent’s Park is now officially open. This beautiful new two-acre, climate-resilient garden is a living tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and is now ready for you to explore.

We were delighted to have Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal officially open the garden in honour of her late mother last week on what would have been her 100th birthday. Her Royal Highness toured the garden, met important stakeholders, staff, contractors and volunteers involved in the garden’s creation, and thanked the project’s landscape and horticulture teams.

The project puts sustainability at its core, reusing materials from the demolition of the former nursery site. Crushed concrete from the old glasshouses is used in the soil to create an innovative growing medium. The pergola incorporates salvaged steel from the glasshouses, and the restored water tower now serves as a viewing platform and a wildlife habitat.

With spring in full swing, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy this new free-to-access green space in the heart of London.
