We Stopped 39 New Yorkers (and Tourists) to Ask About Their Summer Sandals

We Stopped 39 New Yorkers (and Tourists) to Ask About Their Summer Sandals

During the stickiest days of early July, Katherine Gillespie, Liza Corsillo, and Najwa Jamal dispersed throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn and hailed down random people wearing intriguingly nice-and comfortable- looking shoes to find out what sandals New Yorkers (and tourists) around us were traversing the city in this summer.

Some highlights: the Target heeled flip-flops one retail worker would stand all day in, the gladiator Doc Martens one walker’s been wearing for six years, the Tevas one West Villager has owned since 2006 (and keeps gluing back together), and a pair of strappy leather sandals custom-made in Greece. (Our reporters also agreed with many ardent fans that a classic pair of Birkenstock Arizonas can be hard to beat.) Read about the rest of the sandals they learned about here.

What Erika Jayne (Still) Can’t Live Without

What Erika Jayne (Still) Can’t Live Without

Back in 2019, we asked Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne about the things she can’t live without. Seven years later, we asked her to revisit her list, which you can read here. Turns out she still swears by lots of her old picks, like her go-to lip moisturizer she still uses.

Some new favorites: the whole-body deodorant she relies on for a fresh scent (which is the same brand as our staff-favorite gym-stink eraser) and her reliable and affordable eczema cream. Read about everything else on her new list here.
