A split yoke allows the shirt to fit and sit better. This is why Pink makes the extra effort to split the yoke—the crucial pattern piece that sits across the back of the shoulders—as a standard of our construction.
We cut the yoke’s cotton on the diagonal, allowing a slight stretch to perfectly accommodate the shoulder. It is a tradition of English shirtmaking that Pink is proud to continue.
The beauty of the split yoke is most visible on a striped or patterned shirt. Crucially, the pattern has to match perfectly not only across the yoke itself, but exactly where the yoke meets the sleeves.
