Did you know that National Get Outdoors Day is this Saturday?

That’s why we’ve set a goal to bring together 200 donors to give by midnight this Friday so that our entire community can spend National Get Outdoors Day exactly where we belong: offline and outside.

We are all eager to head outside, but our public lands are at stake. Budget cuts and land privatization efforts loom, threatening to undermine local progress and leave our public lands vulnerable to development. 

Even in this moment when conservation efforts are on the line, our supporters' trust and generosity allows us to take on ambitious, community-driven projects like Bridgeport Seawalk in Connecticut.

Bridgeport, Connecticut, boasts 24 miles of waterfront, but nearly 70% of it is privately owned—and the local community wants to do something about that. TPL is collaborating with city officials and residents to execute an ambitious vision: a 20-mile public seawalk. This project will connect Bridgeport’s waterways and shorelines, creating a vital link to the waterfront for residents and connecting 9 of the city’s 13 neighborhoods.
