As the weather warms up and we all start heading back outside, we’re reminded that access to nature is essential to our happiness, health, and well-being. But connections with nature look different in every zip code, which is why we partner closely with local communities to meet their specific needs—whether that’s a fruit orchard in LA, a bird-themed mini-golf course in Chicago, or classical music performed in the heart of nature.
As we prepare for Earth Day, here are a few projects that are bringing us extra joy:

For the past three years, we've partnered with pianist Hunter Noack to merge art, land stewardship, and community connection through sound at sites like Story Mill Community Park in Bozeman, Montana. With his 9-foot Steinway grand piano in tow, Hunter travels to public lands, parks, ranches, and cultural sites across North America, transforming each landscape into a magical, open air concert. As Hunter says, "What surprises me at every show are the moments that we could never plan: when the waves seem to flow to the pulse of the music or a flock of geese flies over at just the right time. The synchronicity feels like magic."—and that magic is only possible when the land is protected and open to all.

TPL can only lean into this kind of outside the box creativity because of the trust and direct support of our members. Your commitment gives us the flexibility to fund these unique solutions that put the benefits of nature within reach for everyone.
We can’t wait to share more with you as Earth Day approaches. For now, we hope you’re able to get outside and enjoy a local park near you!
