Friend, each February, we celebrate Black History Month and the legacy of Black excellence. Since UNCF’s founding in 1944, we have furthered that legacy through our support of HBCUs and the bright students who lead us toward the future. |
HBCUs have long stood as pillars of Black communities and cornerstones in our history. UNCF’s unwavering support sustains the mission of HBCUs by providing scholarships and funding to help students thrive. |
Yet as Pell Grants are newly being cut and Parent PLUS loans are being limited, your support is key to ensure that HBCUs and their students can thrive and succeed. |
UNCF-member HBCUs like Morehouse College, Fisk University and Spelman College sit at the center of Black History, having shaped many of the leaders and movements we honor this February.
|
But it is not enough to simply honor history. We must also ensure that future generations can carry on the flame—and that cannot happen without strong HBCUs and an accessible education for tomorrow’s American leaders. |
