It was Vincent Van Gogh who famously professed, “The whole future of art is to be found in the South of France.” Teeming with history, architecture and innumerable idyllic landscapes, the mélange of Mediterranean resort towns has long acted as a source of inspiration for creatives in all forms. Perhaps it’s not all surprising that we, too, can’t seem to stay away.

This very southern coast shaped the spirit of our Pre-Fall Collection. So we returned to photograph the season’s campaign within French-Turkish architect Jean Balladur's utopian seaside city, La Grande-Motte.

The mesmerizing, modernist pyramids were built entirely from scratch in the ‘60s and ‘70s, conceived as a dream of leisure and rhythmic living. Visualizing a haven for those seeking respite from past and present, Balladur centered his designs on the Camargue’s greatest assets: sun and sea.
