After escaping Nazi persecution, Sonia Pressman Fuentes found her purpose as a feminist activist, as one of the first women lawyers at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and a co-founder of NOW. Her life, shaped by resilience and chance, is a testament to the profound impact one individual can make in the fight for equality. Award-winning filmmaker Sarah Colt tells Sonia's story in a captivating short film, in which Sonia, at 96, reflects on her history, contributions and her mortality.

Immediately following the screening, Colt will sit down with Karla Gilbride, who served as the General Counsel at the EEOC during the Biden Administration and currently serves as a deputy director at the ACLU Disability Rights Project. A reception will follow.
