On Saturday 14 March, your Wellington Phoenix will take to the field for Match for Good, a special double-header featuring both our men’s and women’s teams.
In partnership with McDonald’s NZ, both teams will wear a bespoke charity kit for the Macca’s Match for Good double-header. And this one means more.
The strip has been designed by four families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand (RMHC® NZ) in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, bringing their stories, creativity, resilience and aroha directly onto the pitch.
Families supported by RMHC NZ are navigating some of the toughest moments of their lives. Giving them the chance to design our kits is a way to celebrate their courage and reflect their strength in every stitch.
The shirts are predominantly white, with yellow sleeves and red trim. Eight hearts, four butterflies and a flower, drawn by the respective families, feature on the front and back.
The men will wear white shorts. The women will wear red.
During the week leading into Match for Good, McDonald’s customers across Aotearoa can donate via kiosk or drive-thru, with franchisees matching every donation. Dynasty will also donate 10% from every charity shirt sold.
The match-worn shirts from the men’s fixture against Perth Glory and the women’s game against Brisbane Roar will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to RMHC NZ, whose core mission is to keep families together when their children are in hospitals away from home by providing free accommodation and support.
The Match for Good shirts are available now with pre-orders closing at 11:59pm Sunday 1st March, with kits arriving early to mid April. This is the best way to guarantee your kit, with extremely limited stock available on matchday.
