Friend, right now, the world is facing a global food crisis of unprecedented proportions — the largest in modern history. The drivers of this hunger crisis are conflict, costs and climate. Over the next few weeks, we are going to give you more insight into these three drivers of hunger starting with conflict.

You might be surprised to learn that conflict is the number one driver of hunger. Conflict tears families apart, forces entire communities from their homes, destroys infrastructure and disrupts food production. It's a vicious force, and one that's pushed millions of civilians to the most extreme levels of hunger imaginable.

Most of the worst food crises in the world are driven almost entirely by conflict. A report from World Food Program USA examines the relationship between hunger and conflict. The Dangerously Hungry report sheds light on how hunger can drive conflict, leading to a terrible cycle of violence and instability. You can read the full report here.
The bottom line is: hunger fuels conflict, and conflict fuels hunger. If we want peace, we need to solve hunger first. And we can't do it without your help, so thank you for being a World Food Program USA supporter.
