About Business Model Innovation in the Age of AI

Jonathan Conrad

“When I saw this program, and how it combined business model innovation with the pace of change in the age of AI, it really hit the target of what I was looking for. It’s about constant innovation — how you adapt your business model and take advantage of new technology. And it delivered; it was great.

We’re a 46-year-old company, and we joke that we’ve gone from mainframe to AI — and everything in between. We’ve been through recessions and big market shifts. Our primary focus is government work, and even there, things are changing fast. State governments are very interested in and eager to utilize AI, while navigating the bureaucracies and systems already in place. As their partners, it’s on us to understand the best solutions and how they might work in that world. I wanted to learn how we use AI as an organization and how we help our clients use it too.

One of the biggest takeaways was realizing the frequency and intentionality of business model change — it has to be constantly assessed and adapted. The reality and pace of business model innovation and the unique approaches provided during the course really challenged my thinking. We should always be asking what’s new and how we adjust quickly.”
