Wimp Decaf Coffee Co
Coffee on a saucer inside of a cafe

I met my new friend Luis Mendo in Tokyo this year. Within minutes I knew he was gonna be a friend for a long-ol-time. Which is strange, considering I've kept leftovers in my fridge longer than I’ve known him.

Luis’s illustrations have this quiet magic that remind me what I wanted life to be before it got filled with Slack notifications and subscription renewals I don't need. His work feels like a visual poetry. Quirky, humorous, human, and warm in a way that asks me to shake off whatever was bothering me. It's the kind of work that makes you want to go outside, kiss someone like you mean it, or lie on your back and stare at the stars until your phone dies and you accidentally start recovering.

Being around Luis (said in the cool spanish way), makes me remember to pay attention to the kind of person I really want to be, someone a little slower, a little softer, and more willing to notice the world. This video of him captures what I mean pretty darn well.

Happy Halloween folks. I hope you were able to play dress up, and get some time away from a few demands tonight. May you find a decaf state-of-mind.

FORWARD TO A FRIEND
Probably a bad idea

A Series / It's time to get in the Dirt:
My daughter, wife, and I have fallen in love with this "adventure local" series from the folks at Huckberry. It's soulful, earnest, and fun. It's about food, play, and getting your hands dirty in the process. It's a great way to soak in some really well made content together.

A Word / What does it mean to chill out?
This guy Jack has a channel to teach people English, and so his explanation of what it means to Chill Out is intended for non english speakers, but let me tell you... whether you speak english or not as your first language, this is a much watch for your funny bones.

A LOL / Princess pranks.
Some of these prankster influencers bother the absolute shit out of me, but I gotta tell you that this one caught my eye and made me smile big because it was just the sweetest thing to see grown men spinning like a princess and loving it.

A Cute  / Handmade kicks AIs little baby ass.
I'm more and more drawn to things that take awhile to make, and especially the physical world. Grass under the feet, crafts in the hands. This work from Lucas Lopes really fits in that world. I think you'll appreciate it.

A Game / A table top way to play together, but digital?
I'm working on more and more ways to go analog in my life, but every once in awhile something comes along that isn't anti-social pixel-drugs, and is instead closer to the promise that digital once held. Check this out. Ps. a couple of my friends were involved with brand, site, and emails. Good job Kevin and Jordan!

What are Wimp Special Projects coffees?

Wimp's Special Projects coffees are small-batch, high-quality decafs that could go toe-to-toe with top-shelf regular coffees. They're experimental, delicious, and rare—each one chosen for its standout flavor, process, or story. Not your average cup. Read more about them!

"Love the coffee!
It allows me to have my morning treat without feeling the caffeine all day long."
