Wimp Decaf Coffee Co
Coffee on a saucer inside of a cafe

Tonight, I'm the kind of tired that feels hard-earned. The odometer hit 4000 miles, my bloodstream is 40 percent cookie, and I’m about to climb into an awkward Airbnb bed so tall it should come with a Sherpa.

But I'm good-tired. The kind that arrives after seeing family for Thanksgiving in both Colorado and New Mexico.

Somewhere between gas stations and the existential nostalgia of road trips and playlists, I started thinking about my parents, my family, all of us — aging. I was thinking about this because I spent two weeks watching my parents figuring out what it means to be in their 70s. They've done all the dumb things so we don’t have to. Or maybe, so we can do our own brand of dumb, but better.

Listening to them, watchng them, slows me down. It gives me permission to let go of some of the frantic frenzied fears that tell me if I don't bust ass every singl day then I'm falling behind. This is patient work. Decaf work. Aging isn’t an enemy. It’s the world quietly asking you to pay attention.

On that note, check out this incredible story of a BA grandma doing some real living in her later years. It comes from a great channel of many stories.

FORWARD TO A FRIEND
Probably a bad idea

A Collab / Make a story (together) and print it!:
I'm a big fan of small business and crafts for gifts for the holidays instead of big box and Amazon. This is such a dear way to create a story about someone as a family or friends and then make a book about it. It takes time. It takes thought. It's the opposite of a gift card.

A Gift / Turn a video into a flip book?!
This is one of those ideas I wish I thought of first. It's a brilliant way to make cute and fun things into something memorable, physical, connecting, and analog. Gifs are fun, but flipbooks are legendary.

A Book / There's pop-up, and then there's POP UP!
Alphabet in Motion is a pop-up ABC book that lets you poke, flip, and physically manhandle the entire history of typography. I remain unconvinced that this didn't involve some Hogwarts level magic shit, because wow. It’s a field trip for your inner design nerd, minus the permission slip.

A Bird Dance  / Man trying to find wife by bird dancing.
This dude Nathaniel has some special adaptation in either his brain or his body that has him doing some pretty dope and completely zany dance moves. If he's not getting hooked up with a wife soon from this action, this is not a world I want to live in. Go get 'em Nathaniel!

An Article / Typewriters that change your life.
Burned-out facilities guy meets a 92-year-old typewriter monk and accidentally inherits a new life. What starts as a four-hour visit becomes an apprenticeship, a rescue mission, and eventually a calling. Turns out fixing machines is easy. It’s the what-happens-to-you part that takes time.

Have a link you want to share?

If you find dope stuff on the internet you think would be a good fit, please share it so we can all enjoy it!

"Three weeks after drinking more decaf, I'm a better person. My emotional intelligence score went up 20%, and people say that I'm much more handsome. It's not science, it's better. I attribute these changes to Wimp's absurdly premium decaffeinated coffee."
