I'm in New York this week tagging along with my business boss wife (love you babe). Wow, NYC, it's vibrant, messy, and alive. It's also dirty, chaotic, and sometimes a little too much for my order-hunting brain. This city isn't going to change for little ol' me. It's not going to rearrange itself, or tidy up, even if I ask nicely.
News Flash Walter Cronkite! Life, people, things are gonna be the way they are. This probably seems so obvious to some of you, but it's taken all of the last 46 years of this living experiment of mine to begin to accept that. I think for me, this is my daily decaf.
I forgot to ask for my cappuccino this morning to be
decaf — I've been paying the price all day 🤦♂️. I left my phone charger at the hotel room — had to buy a new one since I was half way across the city. Set out to have a nice productive day — and I've been mostly a jittery ADHD looping gif of a human today. Somehow I wonder if living decaf today just means letting all that be what it is, and kind of appreciating it, even if I wouldn't want to repeat it.
As my mom often recites to me from Seuss:
Today was good.
Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.

Most of us have biases, many of us think we're better at some things that others, and worse than others at something. It's natural. It's pretty human. This site cleverly shows us what on average people think. It reveals some interesting cumulative biases. Sweet little site. Kind of fun.

A Video / Did Gary's mom just fly into his shop?:
So a wonderful customer (Gary) reached out with a video to share (as I'd requested people do) and it turned out to be a video that was meaningful to his own story and it really touched me. My own folks are aging and I care a lot about these sweet little moments of wonder and appreciation, plus hummingbirds are incredible. Thank you Gary! Ps. Y'all should check out his channel. What a talented dood!

Whale's are amazing, but a couple of them decided to show off and created a remarkably serendipitous moment caught in this drone shot. It made me smile.

A Scene / Rocks, calmly talking about the Universe:
The movie Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is a personal favorite of mine (and my son's) and this scene is a very decaf moment in the film. I think about it often.
