While the new kitchen was being established, our response on the ground didn’t slow down. Within hours of the earthquakes, WCK was handing out sandwiches and working alongside dozens of local restaurants and community partners. Food trucks rolled out on June 29 to expand coverage, and ice trucks have delivered thousands of bags of ice, helping families keep food safe and giving first responders relief from the heat.
These were the strongest earthquakes to hit Venezuela in over a century, and the full impact is still coming into focus. So far, we've served nearly 135,000 meals across Miranda, La Guaira, and Carabobo, with 64 active distribution points, including these public meal sites, and counting. Wherever the need is greatest, we'll be there with hot meals and hope. Our teams and local partners are committed to serving up comfort and compassion to Venezuelans for as long as it takes.
