Ebola-CR_Alert-Email-Header_Get Updates

Dear Email,

Yesterday, the World Health Organization (WHO) sounded the alarm on an emerging global public health emergency in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, where a new Ebola outbreak is rapidly spreading.

Here’s what we know:

  • Ebola is a devastating disease characterized by sudden flu-like symptoms that rapidly progress to vomiting, diarrhea and internal or external bleeding
  • This particular strain has no vaccine available and its fatality rate is a horrifying 30-50%
  • Outbreaks can spread quickly, especially in communities where people gather closely for daily life and celebrations
STAY INFORMED

Having worked in DR Congo & neighboring countries since 2001, World Relief is positioned to meet the moment with your support. Our priority is to save lives at risk, and to educate and raise awareness at the community level as quickly as we can across DRC, Burundi and South Sudan, where additional cases are already being reported.

As this crisis unfolds, we are actively assessing needs and mobilizing community-based prevention and response efforts in order to:

  • Share life-saving health information through trusted local leaders.
  • Support community education and prevention efforts.
  • Equip frontline workers with protective supplies.
  • Help vulnerable families access critical resources.

Right now, early action and community awareness is the primary way in which we can save lives.

If you’d like to receive updates about this crisis — including response efforts, prayer needs and opportunities to help — we invite you to stay connected.

KEEP ME UPDATED

And If you’re ready to do more, families impacted by this crisis need your support urgently. Will you join us in saving lives and give today to support our team on the ground in DR Congo?

Thank you for standing with vulnerable communities during this critical moment.

With gratitude,

World Relief
