Francesca, the VP of Marketing and Brand at World Relief recently visited our programs in Burundi, Africa and was deeply moved by what she witnessed. She asked us to share this video with you right away.

Here, Francesca met a woman whose life has been marked by displacement and profound loss. Yet through World Relief’s Agriculture for Life program, the trajectory of her story is taking a different direction — and the impact is only beginning to unfold.

Because of the generosity of people like you, refugee families are finding hope, dignity, healing and opportunities to build sustainable futures for themselves and their children.

At the same time, these same communities continue to face enormous challenges. On May 17, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an Ebola outbreak in central Africa a global public health emergency.

In the refugee camps Francesca witnessed firsthand, outbreaks like this pose an especially urgent threat. Overcrowding, limited access to healthcare and already fragile living conditions can allow disease to spread quickly and deepen fear for people who have already experienced great loss.

During times like these your compassion matters more than ever. Please continue to keep these families, local churches and frontline workers in your prayers as they navigate uncertainty and work to protect the most vulnerable.
